Things to do In and Around Birkenhead

Birkenhead Park dates from the 1840s and was the first public park of its kind in the UK. It contains two lakes and a variety of intriguing architectural features. A cruise on the famous "Ferry Cross the Mersey" can be enjoyed from Woodside Terminal, and a short heritage tramway runs on weekends and school holidays to a depot at the Wirral Transport Museum.

There are a wealth of stunning Victorian buildings in Birkenhead. Visit Hamilton Square and you'll see more Grade I listed buildings together than anywhere outside London.  A short drive under the River Mersey in your comfy rental car gets you to Liverpool, where shopping and leisure abound. See where The Beatles got their start at the Cavern Club, or visit the boutique shops and cafes of the Albert Dock.

As a customer, you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel.

Fuel policy at non-airport locations:

  • You may refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level you received when you picked up the vehicle, or if you choose not to refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level, you will be charged the local Enterprise rate which is typically above the local pump price. An additional refuelling charge may apply at some locations.
  • A full tank of fuel is not guaranteed.

Fuel policy at airport car rental locations:

    • You can avoid the hassle of having to fuel up the vehicle before returning.
